Studies and Publications

  • Baseline study on “Access to investment capital in the sphere of agribusiness in the Samtskhe Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions of Georgia” through the order from the joint Mission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and the Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation (SDC);
  • Baseline study on “Production of small fruits/citruses and berries, operation of freshwater aquaculture farms’ in the Samegrelo, Guria and Adjara regions of Georgia, as well as on assessment of the existing experience in the value chain development initiatives within the above sub-sectors”, carried out through order from the Identification Mission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark;
  • Baseline study of the Georgian Fruit Sector by order from the UNDP’s FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) project;
  • Study on “Assessment of the existing activities of local SMEs in the areas of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Georgia”, in cooperation with Winrock International and through funding from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in the framework of the Environmental Business Finance Program (EBFP);
  • Study of the “Production, processing and distribution of the major livestock, poultry, dairy products, animal feed and agricultural inputs in Georgia”, by order from the US company Crimson Capital Ltd and through the funding from USAID;
  • National SME Policy study by order of the Ministry of Economy of Georgia;
  • Preparation of research on “Analytical survey of currently existing problems/obstacles within Georgian SME sector and identification of possible ways for their solution”. The survey was published as a brochure which also contained data and contact information on organizations and projects currently providing various sorts of support and facilitation to local SME development. The project was supported and funded by Open Society-Georgia Foundation/Soros Foundation;
  • Feasibility study of micro and small business development opportunities in Samtske-Javakheti region of Georgia (specifically within the buffer zone of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park) by order from German organization GOPA GmbH under the WWF program and through funding from the KfW Development Bank;
  • Study of the Georgian Dairy Sector covering Imereti, Kakheti, Kartli and Samegrelo regions of Georgia, implemented by order from Dutch organization HVA-International, under the Dutch Technical Assistance Project on “Strengthening the Dairy Sector in Georgia- a Chain Approach”;
  • Study of the “Basic Data Collection and Institutional Mapping in Three Target Districts in Georgia” (Borjomi, Mtskheta, Telavi), by order from the International Labour Organization (ILO). Works included assessment of the local economic context and potential, conducting of the territorial diagnoses and institutional mapping in preparation of the ILO’s planned future projects addressing the economic development in the above three local districts.
